The fabric is 100% polyester so the water won't hurt it and the non-PVC waterproof plastic liner keeps the water (and chlorine) from your hair. And, unlike competition swim caps, this one's got room inside for your hair! Keeping the water out is a 1" rubber headband with a 1/2" foam rubber sealing band around the outside edge. (See graphic.)
